STRATEGY OF DEVELOPMENT OF AUTONOMY IN TEACHING OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN HIGHER SCHOOL

The article discusses the development of student autonomy, which is an important goal of the process of teaching foreign languages and contributes to the individualization of learning, emphasizes the leading role of the learner as an active subject of the educational process, emphasizes the importance of internal motivation in conditions of autonomous learning. Educational autonomy is the ability of the learner, acting as the subject of the learning process, to independently set the goal of activity, to plan his actions, to choose the methods of educational activity and forms of work, while carrying out reflection, self-control and self-correction, and also bear full responsibility for the results of his educational activity and transfer them to a new learning context. The main areas that contribute to the formation and development of educational autonomy are various forms of distance work, resource centers for independent work, continuous language education, work with educational projects, learning with elements of research, training in the form of solving problems, drawing up a language portfolio, language teaching control. Educational autonomy can not be taught or learned, it can be gradually developed through a conscious attitude to the learning process.
