ПОТЕНЦІАЛ ВИКОРИСТАННЯ ТЕАТРАЛЬНОЇ ПЕДАГОГІКИ У НАВЧАННІ ІНОЗЕМНОЇ МОВИ

Abstract

Based on review of the history of drama techniques in teaching the nontheatrical disciplines, the analysis of main approaches and principles of drama teaching methods is presented as well as their potential in teaching the foreign language is discussed. Drama teaching methods enhance understanding and imagination, promote creative thinking and learning in students, make the learning process exiting and enjoyable, and increases students’ motivation in learning the foreign language and further perfecting of their language skills. Drama teaching methods foster the building of needed skills and knowledge while encouraging personal, social and cultural development in students. It is demonstrated that the implementation of drama techniques in teaching the foreign language makes the teaching process more effective and fully complying with the modern student-centered teaching and learning requirements.
