Abstract
The phenomenon of anxiety within the framework of some psychological directions is analyzed. In learning theory, the interpretation of anxiety evolved from an understanding of it as a conditioned reflex in response to certain social influences to the theory of self-learning. Cognitive models of anxiety postulate that it is associated with violations of information processes that correlate with a sense of danger. Anxiety is seen as the result of an incorrect picture of the world or an inadequate self-concept. The psychoanalytic theory is characterized by a tendency to operationalize concepts, which led to the isolation of the terms “anxiety” and “fear”, to an analysis of anxiety within the internal structure of the personality. Modern psychoanalysis tends to existential explanation of the anxiety causes.
