Abstract

This article is about the features of professional self-determination schoolchildren with impaired hearing. The very concept of «professional orientation» was clarified, which is regarded as a complex of psychological, pedagogical and medical measures aimed in order to optimize the process of employment in accordance with the desires, inclinations, abilities. Also there were considered the needs of society for specialists. The idea of successful socialization and integration into society of young people with disabilities, including deaf education involves getting them to modern professions in demand in the labor market and further successful employment was expressed. Especial form was designed which is as named as «Education and career choices» in order to study occupational preferences of school children with hearing impairments. According to results of pedagogical experiments was found that the average of the professional interests of this category of youth is much wider than the opportunities offered by current educational system. Defined areas that are of the most interest among youth of this category are followings: hardware, vehicles (boys); fashion model, service sector (girls).
