The article is devoted to the investigation of the problem of values and senses in foreign psychology. The characteristic of concepts “value”, “sense” and “value and sense sphere” in the works of foreign scientists is presented. Special attention is given to the research of the problem of values within the limits of behavioural psychotherapy, cultural psychology in the context of leadership of affective sphere in personality development. Besides, in the article the characteristic of the multidisciplinary theory of senses which is based on the understanding of values, synthesizing ideas from biologically oriented psychology, semiotics and cybernetics, is given. In the works of far abroad scientists the category of “value and sense sphere” is clearly distinguished, though it is undoubtedly examined in the process of disclosure of the meaningful essence of values and senses, their interrelation and role in development of a personality. Knowledge about different points of view and scientific approaches affords different opportunities in the investigation of the problem of psychological foundations of the personality value and sense sphere development.
