Abstract

The author has considered the problem of differentiation of the terms “poly-”, “cross-”, “inter-” and “transdisciplinary research” and their functional specificity. Due to terminological analysis the differences in the meaning and a hierarchical development of these concepts from monodisciplinary through poly-, cross-, inter- and transdisciplinary research have been revealed.
