МЕТОДИЧНІ ЗАСАДИ УПРАВЛІННЯ ГРУПОЮ СТУДЕНТІВ НА ЗАНЯТТЯХ З АНГЛІЙСЬКОЇ МОВИ

Abstract

This paper presents a theoretical analysis of some elements of student group management in English class. Three components of the lesson such as: physical learning environment, task definition, establishing classroom climate are under consideration. The role of management styles chosen by the lecturer in the class is emphasized. The most widespread management styles are depicted in the article: authoritative, democratic, liberal. It’s noted that an important role in English class is played by the personality of the lecturer and his ability to organize effective learning. The interactive communicative method under consideration is based on arranging the students in various groupings, such as: lockstep, pair work, group work. The author analyses methodical and pedagogical aspects of these groupings. Some recommendations are given to the usage of the group (cooperative) teaching-learning activity model, the most effective one in English class. It is revealed that effective management in English class is provided by friendly learning environment, proper establishment of relations between the teacher and the students, flexible usage of different models of teaching activity.
