ЛОГІКА РЕФОРМУВАННЯ УНІВЕРСИТЕТСЬКОЇ ОСВІТИ В ЄВРОПЕЙСЬКОМУ ПРОСТОРІ: ЕПОХА ЗНАНЬ

The article deals with the author’s periodization of the European university education reforms in the modern knowledge-based era. The author analyzes the main phase of the reform of European university education, reveals the features of each of the phases, grounds external and internal factors that led to the development of modern University reforms. Analyzing works of European scientists and university model of higher education in European countries, working with university programs, curricula and documents we came to the conclusion that principles of university education modernization are not the same but rather similar in the whole European educational environment and in general they may be described as triple-phased process with the first phase of reforms proclaiming the equality in education in 1960-s, the second phase of global transformations in 1990-s and the third modern phase started with Bologna processes in 1999. All these phases of European university reforms are interrelated with each other and in the long run the new policy on university education has been formulated based on European triangle of knowledge embracing education, research and innovation. Nonetheless, there is growing evidence that the European university is in a transition phase in which the legitimacy of its mission, organization, functioning, foundation, ways of thought and resources are challenged and transformed.
