This article discusses the concept of national identity and main characteristics of national identity in Canada. The factors which influence on the formation of personality and patriotic education of the young generation in schools are indicated. The importance of the national identity of the teacher is shown in this article. The definite national identity as a key factor in the patriotic education of senior pupils is of great importance in this multinational country. It is characterized the conditions, which help to form the national identity of teachers in Canada.
