Abstract

The paper is devoted the main problems of the law of Ukraine «On National Minorities», including its compliance with international legal obligations of Ukraine on this issue. Particular attention is paid to the contents of the special observation legislation on national minorities , its inconsistency. In this article author made conclutions that since the adoption of the Law of Ukraine «On National Minorities» in 1992 Ukraine became a party to several international treaties concerning the rights and protection of minorities , in particular the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities ( 1995 ). Ukraine’s international commitments and the needs of modern society require specification of measures at the national level for national groups. Said needs a new version of the Law of Ukraine «On National Minorities in Ukraine»
