The article deals with the retrospective analysis of individualization forms and methods. An individual approach was first applied in Ancient Rome and Greece. Individual approach to teaching children became the subject of research in the 1950s. This teaching method was to make self-education process more effective. Teachers and psychologists studied students’ characteristics and grouped them into individual learning styles. At the same time, scientists created the scale of personal activity to measure individual skills and to form strategies for increasing efficiency of talented students. Further research enabled distinguishing individual pedagogical styles, describing their advantages and disadvantages in some classrooms. Psychologists suggested four main substructures of an individual. Detailed characteristics of these substructures laid the basis for categorizing individual styles of activity and individual pedagogical style. The process of an individual pedagogical style formation is rather difficult and is closely connected with personal features of character. While forming an individual pedagogical style teachers should pay special attention to studying their skills. Teachers’ effectiveness is much depended on communicative, organizational, creative, gnostic, and constructive skills to meet the common goals and set up feedback with students’ upbringing and development. An individual pedagogical style also influences the formation of students’ individual learning strategy.
