ВИКОРИСТАННЯ ЕЛЕКТРОННОЇ ОСВІТНЬОЇ ПЛАТФОРМИ MOODLE У НАВЧАННІ ІНОЗЕМНІЙ МОВІ СТУДЕНТІВ НЕМОВНИХ ВНЗ

Abstract

Prospect for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Environment in teaching Foreign Language for Professional Purposes at non-linguistic higher educational establishments is examined. The potential of Moodle in solving problems of foreign language teaching is revealed. They are: mastering new technologies of foreign language learning; increasing the level of informational culture and assisting the skills development of work with information, which is given in the foreign language; developing skills for work with original English resources for the purpose of improvement of professional knowledge and skills; developing skills of work with English language distance courses and resources; developing skills to systematize knowledge, to plan time and to use modern educational achievements effectively. Analysis of Moodle elements, used in the process of teaching foreign language for professional purposes, is done. The most effective elements are considered to be: Lesson, Exercise, Database, Glossary, Chat, Forum, Workshop, Quizzes, Tests. Positive features of each element are considered in details. The necessity of developing an integrated course of foreign language teaching, based on combination of traditional methods and distance technologies, is accentuated.
