Abstract

The article dwells upon the results of theoretical grounds and empirical study specifics of personality features of lonely women of mature age. Category of loneliness as a multifunctional phenomenon definition presented in the literature, as well as its structural components, types, aspects, mechanisms and formation factors are named. As a result of empirical study it’s been shown that single women are experiencing loneliness. Kinds and levels of loneliness are educed for lonely women. Lonely women experience loneliness more sharply unlike married women. The lonely women of mature age are characterized by such personality features as an anxiety, aggression, reserve, modesty, depression, irritation. Results of the research can be used by practical psychologists in working with lonely women, in psychological counseling, psychodiagnostic, in the practice of psychotherapy.
